Career Opportunities

The history major opens for students a variety of possible career avenues.  Historians work in classrooms at all levels of education; in museums; in the editing and publishing fields; in archives; in historic preservation; at federal, state, and local agencies; and as lawyers, business people, consultants, and contractors.

Student Awards

Each month during the academic year (September-May), the history department honors one undergraduate history major or minor as the Student of the Month. All previous winners are eligible for the department's Student of the Year upon which they receive a cash prize made possible through the generosity of Mrs. Nancy C. Isaac.

LU History Club

The ذكذكتسئµ University History Club creates fun opportunities for students and faculty to nurture and enrich their passion for history and come together outside of the classroom setting. LU History Club membership is open to all students, regardless of major, with an interest in history and/or historical preservation.
