Computer Requirements
Civil and Environmental Engineering courses tend to be computer intensive and make use of many software programs for modeling, analysis and design. Having a modern computer able to run this software is critical for your success. We recommend the following configuration for laptops.
Minimum Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, Windows 11 recommended.
- RAM: 8 GB minimum, and 16 GB recommended.
- Processer: Any Intel or AMD x64 dual-core processor with 2.2 GHz minimum, 3+ GHz recommended.
- Hard Disk Space: 500 GB, and 1TB or higher recommended.
- Screen Resolution:1024 X 768 with true color, and 1680 X 1050 or higher with true color recommended.
- Display Card (for AutoCAD and ArcPro): 2 GB GPU, 4GB GPU recommended.
MacOS is NOT recommended as engineering software is often not compatible.
