ذكذكتسئµ University is committed to making a good faith effort and providing equal opportunities to increase business with Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs). This is done by procuring goods or services directly with certified HUB vendors or indirectly through subcontracting opportunities.
The Director of Procurement & Payment Services is the official HUB Coordinator and is assisted by other Procurement staff.
There are six (6) procurement categories and each has a HUB goal per 34 TAC §20.284. LU strives to exceed the annual state goals.

The Statewide Procurement Division Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) ذكذكتسئµ administers the HUB program in accordance with Texas Government Code §2161 and Texas Administrative Code, Title 34, Chapter 20, Subchapter K, Division 1, §20.281 to 20.298.

ذكذكتسئµ University encourages qualifying vendors to apply for HUB certification through the State of Texas Comptroller. An applicant owner must provide proof of at least 51% ownership and control of the day-to-day operations in the business. The state certifies businesses by ethnicity and gender and by service disabled veteran status. Minority men and women certified as HUBs are counted as an ethnic minority. The “American Woman” category includes all American Women other than Black American, Hispanic American, Asian-Pacific American, Native American or Service-Disabled Veteran. HUB eligible groups are identified as follows: (AI)-Native American, (AS)-Asian Pacific American, (BL)-Black American, (HI)-Hispanic American, (DV)-Service-Disabled Veteran, (WO)-American Women.
