PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
August 13, 2020

The Parking Advisory Committee is the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus. Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy.
- Welcome and opening remarks: Robert ‘Bert’ Wagner, Executive Director Campus Operations
- Bert passed out a list of bullet points under the heading “Ideas for Consideration”. The committee was asked to review the list and make notes for discussion at future meetings.
OLD BUSINESS:
University has not returned to issuing citations. Warning tickets, with the exception of safety and violations such as parking in accessible space, will be issued through August 23 with all citations for parking violations being issued starting August 24.
NEW BUSINESS:
- New campus parking maps were distributed to those in attendance
- New Parking Permits – Old Permits Expire 8/18/2020 (No change in parking permit costs for FY21). No Discussion.
- Warning Citations for parking violations are currently being issued and will continue through August 23rd. No Discussion
- All reserved parking lot gates will go down beginning August 18th. No Discussion
- ذكذكتسئµ Police Department will begin issuing Citations for Parking Violations beginning August 24th. Chief Hector Flores confirmed this item.
- Mark Broome asked if the Parking Office could furnish a comparison of Permits Sold last year compared to permits sold this year. Once we are past the initial rush we will pick a YEAR TO DATE for comparison.
- LOT UPDATES
- Lot C-4 will be closed for band practice beginning August 6 – November 15, 2020. No Discussion
- Lot E-5 Completion date is scheduled for August 14th. Depending on any weather delays. Delayed to August 28th due to weather.
- It was also noted that the new parking map has indicated three lots that would include space for motorcycle parking. The space for MC parking was to be painted during the time before the beginning of the fall semester. However the work was not scheduled.
- Next meeting will be September 10, 2020 at 1:30 PM in the Plummer Conference Room 102 or as a TEAM online meeting
