Dr. Mamta and her team of research students visited Roy Guess Elementary to introduce students to the maritime industry and the diverse opportunities it offers. Thanks to the support of internal research funds, Dr. Mamta's initiative aims to develop maritime awareness curricula specifically for elementary-aged children. By creating early exposure, her goal is to help build a strong pipeline into the maritime industry for the next generation. (10/29/2024)
ÐßÐßÊÓƵ University's Center for Advances in Port management recently partnered with the Port of Port Arthur, the Port Arthur International Seafarers center, Texas A&M Nicki Fitzgerald, the Sabine Pilots, and many other SE Texas maritime leaders to provide SE Texas youth with a week of hands-on maritime knowledge and experience. The Port Capital Investment Report (PCIR) highlights a wide variety of infrastructure needs at Texas ports, including 51 projects totaling $1.67 billion. Funding keeps Texas ports competitive and helps continue to grow the state’s economy.
