ذكذكتسئµ University's baseball program geared up to inspire the next generation of athletes with its annual baseball camps.
Designed for children ages six to 12, these camps offered a unique opportunity for budding baseball enthusiasts to hone their skills under the guidance of experienced ذكذكتسئµ University coaches, current players, and former players.
“This is my second year coaching, and I think it's just good to have the kids out and kind of experience what it's like to be at a Division I program with Division I facilities,” Coach Daniel Cole said. “It’s also a good way to get to experience the different coaching styles that we have. We have a coach Caleb, who's from Vidor. I coached at Hardin, and then we have two ذكذكتسئµ coaches. It’s a great way to experience a few different styles that kind of mesh it all together to give the kids a great experience during the summer.”
The camps were structured into three sessions, each providing flexibility to accommodate the busy summer schedules of parents and campers.
“My son loves baseball, so we do anything that we can do to play more of the game, and I love that it's very structured. They keep him busy the entire time. They're not sitting around,” parent Amanda Mayes said. “I also think it gives them something to aspire to, and the fact that it's a hometown team is very cool.”
Session I kicked off on June 17 and ran through June 20, offering both half-day (9 a.m. to noon) and full-day options. Session II followed closely from June 24 to June 27, featuring identical scheduling and pricing. For those looking to dive into baseball fundamentals later in the summer, Session III will run from July 8 to July 11, mirroring the structure and pricing of the previous sessions.
