On Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m., the ذكذكتسئµ University Black Alumni Network is set to host “Entrepreneurship 101,” a virtual workshop that aims to educate Black LU alumni on how to start and manage a successful business.
“This event will be catered to LU alumni who are thinking about becoming an entrepreneur or are already managing a small business,” said Ashley Toliver ’17, an organizer of the event. “Our goal is to equip alumni with necessary tools to sustain a successful business and provide business tips and insight catered to their specific industry.”
The event also will feature an alumni panel with guest speakers Dorwin Samuel ’08, owner of popular Houston lounge , and Nicholas Rolling ’10, owner of an automobile dealership also located in Houston.
“The panel will consist of ذكذكتسئµ University graduates who are running successful businesses,” Toliver said. “Their years of experience operating a business will range from five to 15 or more years."
The “Entrepreneurship 101” workshop is the first of a three-part professional development series and is free and open to all Black ذكذكتسئµ University alumni and members of the network.
