A Beaumont native and ذكذكتسئµ University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in dance, Lucy Talkington Arrington has been dancing since the age of 4. While at ذكذكتسئµ, she studied ballet extensively with Julio deBittencourt. She also studied musical theatre and jazz with the legendary Jim Franklin. A flamenco enthusiast, she has studied with Nana Lorca, Rogelio Rodriguez and Luis Rivera, and has studied in Mexico and Spain. Arrington was assistant director of the ذكذكتسئµ SunDANCE Company for two years. She was tested and certified with Dance Masters of America in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics.

While owning her own dance studio, many of her dance students won scholarships to New York City and Los Angeles. After running a successful dance studio for many years, she joined the ذكذكتسئµ dance faculty as an adjunct professor in 1998 and became a full-time instructor in 2010. She teaches theatre dance forms, pedagogy, ballet, tap, jazz, applied choreography and dance internship. Recently she has been involved with the Department of Theatre & Dance's partnership with Odom Academy.

She has choreographed numerous original works in a variety of styles for the university’s fall and spring dance concerts and also served as choreographer for “Sweet Charity and “Frog and Toad.” In addition, "Miss Lou," as she is called by her students, is currently the choreographer in residence for the Southeast Texas Ballet Company. She has taught master classes at the American College Dance Festival and the Texas Dance Educators Association Convention.

Highly in demand as a dynamic freelance choreographer, she has worked extensively with the Beaumont Community Players, Symphony of Southeast Texas, Beaumont Ballet Theatre, Ozen Dance Company, Orange Jazz Company and other organizations. In 2019 her work “Boudain and Barbecue” was presented in Taiwan as part of the cultural exchange program between ذكذكتسئµ University and Tainan University of Technology.

In addition to her work at ذكذكتسئµ University and area dance studios, Arrington is also an actor and singer, having performed with Gaslight Theatre, the Beaumont Community Players, the Beaumont Civic Ballet, as well as other local performing arts organizations.
