Deaf Voices explores the challenges faced by the deaf community, focusing particularly on the communication barriers that impact various aspects of life, such as education, mental health, and language deprivation. The goal of this project is to address these issues through powerful paintings that use symbolism and narrative to convey the experiences and perspectives of deaf individuals. By doing so, the work aims to help viewers better understand the unique struggles of the deaf community. To deepen the audience's understanding, the research integrates articles and resources that inform and support the artwork. The series encourages viewers to reflect on their own roles and responsibilities in improving interactions with deaf individuals, whether as family members, friends, or members of society at large. This thesis aims to raise awareness of the longstanding challenges faced by the deaf community and to inspire meaningful change in how society engages with and supports them.
