IV. ذكذكتسئµ University Scholar’s Week, April 12-16, 2021

Jerry Lin: The Provost’s office has specified this week to highlight research scholars on campus during this week. We will showcase their publications, external grants, etc. We are very closing watching the development of Covid-19 virus. This week also coincides with the SACS visit. There will be more information coming.

V. Roundtable

          i. Approved Role and Responsibility Policy in RC shared folder

There is a PDF in our share folder for your review and let me know.

ii. Questions regarding research enhancement grants

Many of you understand the nature of the REG’s and the funds for such grants. Multiple faculty members have reached out regarding the REG’s and after discussion with the Provost, we currently to do not have a budge for the REG’s and due to Covid-19, those funds may not be available in the next fiscal year. There may be other resources we can look into to do something along the same mechanism of REG’s. We do have two new streams of grants which are special line items. One of them is CAPM, Center for Advances in Port Management and the other is CMMS, Center for Midstream Management and Science.

Ana Christensen: This is more science based and not sure how to include those which are part of the arts. How can we broaden to include all of the other aspects of research?

Jerry Lin: I need help from the council on how to include the other side of the spectrum they need to consider.

Meeting adjourned at 1:12pm.
