Questions from council members to Marco

  • How long does it take for you to know test results? With the new machine it will be 15 minutes.
  • How accurate will the results be? 92%, that is why there is testing 3X week; exploring for potential false positives.
  • How do you conduct contact tracing? Athletic Trainer, Kristin, went through a contact tracing training and works with our team doctors. Marco gave an example.
  • Will we be resuming games next semester? Explained some home games next semester.
  • Have you had signs of mental health? We are talking about it and providing training to our staff. We categorize students (green, yellow, red), if they are yellow and red we suggest counseling. Big part of what we do.
  • Quarantine protocol on campus? They are in their individual rooms, roommates have decided to stay. If local, they are able to go home. We work with housing for them to know who is supposed to be in their room and they work with the dinning hall to take meals to them. If they leave their room, we act. For off campus, it’s an honor system.
  • Helping Staff? I would love to have more face to face meetings. Planning an end of year get together.
  • You need volunteers? We’ll need help for sure. We are working with our staff, will let you know if we need more help in January.

Helene

  • One concern expressed to me, every professor does blackboard differently, there is not uniformity, could that be changed? It would be hard to change, others provided feedback.

Dr. Spina

    • Marco was asked how the council could help athletics? Keeping us accountable, advocate for us.
  • No meeting in December or January. Next meeting will be February 13, 2021.

Meeting ended at 4:30 pm.
