As we enter October, I hope that everyone's semester is going well.
A few items to bring to your attention, as well as some reminders.
Dr. Rebecca Boone has been named Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Jimmy Bryan has stepped into Dr. Boone's previous role as Chair of the History Department.
The LU Speech and Hearing Clinic offers audiology services as a benefit of employment to employees, their insurance-covered dependents, or to currently enrolled students, with no out-of-pocket expenses. They also work with Vocational Rehabilitation for technology assistance. Call (409) 880-8171 for more information.
The LU Tutoring Center has been temporarily relocated to Galloway 140 while the library is under renovation.
Thank you to Vivienne McClendon and her staff for continuing to locate study spaces for students while the library is under renovation. Please see the link for updated information regarding new spaces.
The groundbreaking for the Mary and John Gray Library will be held on the library lawn on October 15 from 2:00-3:00pm.
Another groundbreaking for the new Intramural / band practice field will be held October 9 at 10:00 am on the South lawn of Reaud.
ذكذكتسئµ Writer-in-Residence Dr. Jim Sanderson will talk about his work with Carl Parker in writing his memoirs Turtle on a Post.
Sanderson is an award-winning author of eight novels and he is also a creative writing teacher.
