Both exhibitions will be open from Sept. 20 through Nov. 2. The opening reception for both shows will be held Friday, Sept. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

National Stuttering Association Beaumont/ذكذكتسئµ Chapter Meeting

If you stutter, you are not alone. It’s estimated that over 160 ذكذكتسئµ faculty, students and staff share the common experience of stuttering. Come join our support group, a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking, and explore ways to cope with stuttering.

World Smile Day

October is National Dental Hygiene Month and Friday, Oct. 4 is World Smile Day. We are teaming up with other organizations on campus and to educate students about dental health and learn how to make an appointment.

"Another Way" Book Release Reading and Lecture

World Mental Health Day Event

The Office of Strategic Initiatives is hosting a World Mental Health Day event. The purpose is to raise awareness about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and promoting mental well-being. There will be information provided by LU student organizations and community-based organizations.

Turtle on a Post: Memoirs of Carl Parker with Jim Sanderson
Date: Thursday, Oct. 10, 6 - 7 p.m. Location: Tyrrell Historical Library (695, Pearl Street, Beaumont)
LU Writer-in-Residence Dr. Jim Sanderson will talk about his work with Carl Parker in writing his memoirs Turtle on a Post. Parker (1934-2024) was born in Port Arthur and served 33 years (1962-1995) in the Texas Legislature. Sanderson is an award-winning author of eight novels and he is also a creative writing teacher. 2024 Digital Ticket Learning Technologies Conference
Date: Friday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Location: LU Setzer Student Center
Free online registration is now open for the 2024 Digital Ticket Conference. Registered attendees will attend sessions centered on digital learning and the latest in educational technology. Registration includes lunch and coffee/snacks between sessions. Session proposals will be accepted through August 31.

Walk Like MADD 5k

The 2024 Walk Like MADD Beaumont event is MADD's signature fundraising event to help us raise both awareness and funds to eliminate drunk and drugged driving. Register and donate today to help us save more lives. Fire Truck Pull will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Finish out hurricane season by preparing with the LU Center for Resiliency Smartstorm disaster training and receive a backpack complete with emergency supplies to assist you and your family in the event of a disaster.
